Tomy Wahl – Take Shelter

Ballroom Records BLRM026 08/05/2017

Argentinean producer, Tomy Wahl takes the reigns on the next release to drop on Berlin’s Ballroom Records – an EP titled ‘Take Shelter’ which includes a remix from label bosses Kaiser Souzai. Wahl’s original is a percussion led gem, easing you gently into it’s melodic and otherworldly ambience whilst keeping that rolling tech-house groove that keeps you asking for more. In stark contrast, Kaiser Souzai put a darker touch to their energetic re-hash, sparing nothing with powerful synths, fierce drums and lingering hi-hats, a perfect addition to it’s rhythmic companion.

A producer with his own distinct sound, Tomy Wahl burst onto the scene in 2013 with ‘Cerebro’, released by Patent Skillz Records which went on to hit the beatport top 100, supported by the likes of Richie Hawtin and Stefano Noferini. Teaming up with Elio Riso, whom he had also produced for, they edited a series of tracks for labels such as Intec Digital, Bedrock and Stereo, which were then supported by Carl Cox, Loco Dice and John Digweed to name a few. With a unique live technique consisting of mixing up to four tracks simultaneously, alongside live effects and loops, Wahl continues to create inspirational productions, earning him the title of being one of the most versatile producers of the Argentinean electronic music scene.

Ballroom Records continue to expand their roster and catalogue with their tastemaking touch, backed by label bosses and talented production team, Kaiser Souzai, this year looks to be even bigger than the last.

Take Shelter will land on 8th May 2017 on Ballroom Records.
